21 Money Habits of the Wealthy and How to Apply Them

21 Money Habits of the Wealthy and How to Apply Them

Recently I wrote an article with 21 money habits of the wealthy and how you can apply them, starting with as little as $1 here and there. It is not about the super rich or uber wealthy though.

These habits are for people who want to increase their net worth and cash flow, live more comfortably and some general knowledge about finances to improve your life.

They are habits you can start small with and increase as life changes.

You do not need to start them all at once and you don't need to do any that do not align with you.

Think about the lifestyle you want, your money habits, your short and long term goals then implement the habits that will help you achieve those.

Throughout the article I do mention getting professional advice too and I strongly feel self education is important but there are areas professionals are needed such as setting up a will or a trust, learning how to optimise your finances to reduce tax etc.

Check it out here.

How to Improve Every Area of Your Life 1 Step at a Time

Along a similar theme, I wrote an article for my other site about how to improve every area of your life such as health, career, relationships etc 1 step at a time with small changes.

Often we think we need to suddenly hit the gym an hour a day or have $1,000 available to invest or get a promotion next week but those things are not always realistic.

Instead, making small changes to develop habits and increasing those as we improve can be a great way to add value to our life and achieve our goals.

1 step in the right direction consistently is significantly better than doing nothing.

12 Habit Changes for a Healthier, Wealthier Life with More Free Time

This is a habit heavy email because our habits are key to the life we want. Good habits help us create the life we want, bad habits take away from it.

Some of the habits in each of these articles overlap so while it might seem like a lot, it's not.

Here are 12 habit changes for a healthier, wealthier life with more free time.

How We Are Doing 3.5 Months in the South Pacific

In November we flew to Tonga, a trip that had been planned for years for my older two who are Tongan/Māori. After that, we flew to Vanuatu where my younger 3 are from and where my son will be a chief.

To afford this, I saved, booked cheap flights, used Airbnb in Tonga and quickly befriended locals who gave loads of tips to save money there. It was off season as the whale season had finished although that wasn't intentional. We booked then as my eldest had finished their HSC (graduated year 12).

In Vanuatu, we have no rent, stay with family, own a transport business so we have access to 2 buses, we own beaches and other real estate there so we have a great lifestyle that costs essentially nothing.

We eat the fresh produce in season but there are regular earthquakes, it is cyclone season and reception can be patchy.

Without the free accommodation, this wouldn't be practical.

However, if you want a break read my tips to save money on travel and how to make money travelling even as a family (and no, you don't need to be an 'influencer' or similar).
