How to get cash back, bonus points and rewards now Cashrewards is closing

I don't normally email twice in a week but since Cashrewards is closing, I thought you might want other options to get cash back with your shopping.

How To Get Cash Back

The popular app and website, Cashrewards, is closing and if you're a member, you should have been notified about it so you can cash your money out in time. You have time so don't stress if you haven't heard or taken action.

What are your options for cash back without CashRewards?

Shopback is the most popular and if you don't have it already, you can get a $20 bonus when you join.

I've used Shopback for years and have gotten thousands back on travel, skincare, groceries and more.

Swagbucks is another one but it is a little less straightforward. You earn points that you can convert to cash through PayPal or gift cards.

Honey is similar but also offers coupons, discount and scans to see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

How I Use Cash Back Offers

I have used cash back programs for years and saved thousands as a result.

Overtime, I have developed a rough idea of how much the things I need or use cost, their loyalty programs and when they go on sale or have promotions such as bonuses with purchases.

Because of this, when I purchase anything, I can easily compare prices and the extra perks to get the best offer for whatever I am buying.

Firstly, I research the best price for whatever I need including groceries, accommodation, skincare etc.

Compare the offers, cash back bonuses and other things on different sites then choose where to purchase.

As an example, with my skincare sometimes there are 20% cash back offers when buying direct, other times there are large offers with beauty retailers. Sometimes the gifts with purchase are great, other times the retailers have better ones.

A great example with this is a beauty retailer had a 20% cash back offer plus free gift with purchase for the brands I use PLUS an extra gift for any order over a certain amount. I was already spending this amount and buying these items so all those bonuses and the cash back came to $850 worth. As in, $850 worth of skincare, makeup, bonus products I use and cash back.

Another example, we do pizza on Fridays usually and sometimes they had 25% or more cash back.

Movie tickets are cheaper through the apps and often have bonus offers.

Accommodation and travel deals are regularly upsized and given how much we travel for family, business, wrestling championships for my daughter etc this adds up fast for us.

With travel, I compare prices then wait for an upsized cash back offer and book then. This way I get the best rate plus bonus cash back.

How to Get Discounts

Getting a discount at the point of purchase instead of waiting for cash back is great, combining them is even better!

You can research yourself or use apps such as Zyft, Half Price, Frugl and WiseList to do it for you.

Sign up to any reward program for the place you want to shop and maximise their sign up bonuses as well as reward points.

Get free gift cards to use shopping (I have 5 ways to do this here) or get gift cards on sale e.g. 10% off when they are advertised but only the ones that don't charge a fee otherwise it isn't worth it.

Combine all these things and you can save thousands.

This is a long one but I hope it's useful and respond to this email if you have any questions! It's no secret we travel a lot for family overseas, championships for the kids and have various extras that many cannot afford at this point in time. I've been a homeless single mother before on Centrelink so understand that level of stress as I had to find money to pay for private speech therapy and things too (we were not eligible for NDIS but my kids needed extra help). Our extended family are in...
