How to Future Proof Your Finances

How to Future Proof Your Finances

Whether it is an emergency, the world falling to pieces, illness, injury or death preparation or job security due to AI and other changes, there are many things you can do to future-proof your finances.

How to Prepare for Emergencies focuses on the financial aspect, paying down debt, getting your finances in order, what to do with large unexpected expenses etc.

How to Manage Finances When Sick

What to do to Prepare for Death: It happens to us all and is better if you are prepared for it now rather than if something happens. Make sure you have a will in place and get advice to cover things such as care towards the end if needed, funeral arrangements, costs etc. Decide if you will be an organ donor and make sure you register.

Our Meal Plan

Right now, we have a few meal plans rotating and need to accommodate different work schedules. We used to be able to cook large batches of things then divide some for lunches and freeze some. It saved a lot of time and money. Or we would rotate the discounts from meal kits but we are not doing that yet in Fremantle.

With a different lifestyle, different climate (Perth is a Mediterranean climate vs the tropical/sub-tropical we have been used to most of our lives), our meals have changed slightly.

Dinners include BBQ with salad, pho (my favourite), san choy bau, Thai beef salad, fish based on what we catch, coconut chicken and similar. Meals that are not too hot and are easy to make. I love kimchi and kombucha too.

In winter, we have more stews, soups and meals like that.

For breakfasts we still enjoy smoothies, omelettes, breakfast muffins, my 4 and 5 year old love Weet-Bix.

Lunches are leftovers, wraps, salads, rice paper rolls, quesadillas and similar.
