We used to be able to cook large batches of things then divide some for lunches and freeze some. It saved a lot of time and money. Or we would rotate the discounts from meal kits but we are not doing that yet in Fremantle. With a different lifestyle, different climate (Perth is a Mediterranean climate vs the tropical/sub-tropical we have been used to most of our lives), our meals have changed slightly. Dinners include BBQ with salad, pho (my favourite), san choy bau, Thai beef salad, fish based on what we catch, coconut chicken and similar. Meals that are not too hot and are easy to make. I love kimchi and kombucha too. In winter, we have more stews, soups and meals like that. For breakfasts we still enjoy smoothies, omelettes, breakfast muffins, my 4 and 5 year old love Weet-Bix. Lunches are leftovers, wraps, salads, rice paper rolls, quesadillas and similar. What I Am ReadingFind my 2026 reading list here, created before the year started.
