How to Prepare When the World Is Falling Apart

What I Am Reading

My reading list for 2026 can be found here. One of the books I chose was unintentionally a way of life I was already living.

The Wardrobe Project: A Year of Buying Less and Liking Yourself More by Emma Edwards.

Last year I went to Tonga and Vanuatu for a few months then travelled across to Perth. I selected 3 dresses, a coverup shirt, 2 singlet tops, 2 exercise outfits, 2 swimmers, sandals, sneakers (plus 2 pairs of socks), 2 lava lavas and underwear.

The items I chose were multi-purpose e.g the dresses can be worn as skirts, strapless or with the coverall top for different looks. They are also designed that as I lose weight, they can be adjusted.

Since arriving in Perth, I still haven't bought anything. I haven't looked at clothes much and haven't felt a strong desire to change things up.

I am not comparing myself as much to others and less interested in shopping at all.

How to Start Over With Nothing Moving from Sydney to Perth, I met numerous people along the way and one thing that stood out was how many either were or had recently started over with nothing. The number of people living in caravan parks, free camp sites, hotels etc is higher than I have ever seen in my life. As someone who has started over with nothing and gone from homeless to CEO years ago, moved states starting with nothing, repatriated in 2020 from the Solomon Islands after losing 70% of...

How to Reduce the Cost of Groceries The cost of groceries keeps rising and it is not being passed onto the farmers by the big supermarkets.
